Short Summary
The People & Culture Business Partner provides advice, guidance and coaching to line managers through partnering with senior leaders and delivering on the group P&C Global strategy to increase employee engagement for our teams.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
- Consulting with our business leaders and management teams to foster and promote the engagement of our core values at all levels.
- Managing the functional delivery of all generalist people & culture activities covering multiple areas of HR .
- Acting as a point of contact and providing strategic advice for all leadership and employees for people & culture matters in the UK.
- Implementing, managing and monitoring People & Culture policies and delivering training on these policies.
- Assisting management and leadership to resolve complex employee relation issues, conducting effective investigations, and recommending action for sensitive and complex situations, including disciplinaries and appeals where appropriate.
- Delivering People & Culture project outcomes where required in the areas of onboarding & offboarding, leadership, learning, development, career pathways, strategic workforce .planning (SWP) and capability, organisational design, performance management, analytics, reporting and payroll.
- Provision of continuous improvement in line with HR best practice for all aspects of P&C delivery, policy and process.
- Support with provision of monthly reporting and analysis on turnover, headcount, diversity, and other ad hoc requirements.
- Supporting the development and deployment of our organisation wide career path and job family model .
- Ensuring all teams have talent management and succession plans in place based upon skills matrices and capability assessment and feed this into the organisation capability plan.
- Partnering with the UK management team and in collaboration with the Group People & Culture team deliver a number of strategic projects in line with our Group People & Culture Strategy designed to increase employee engagement.
- Supporting and managing the Social Committee, ensuring that events are aligned with company culture and objectives.
- Managing the Gender Pay Gap reporting and initiatives, ensuring compliance and creating action plans to address gaps.
- Overseeing HR systems to ensure effective and efficient functionality for all People & Culture processes.
- Monitoring and improving management information systems to ensure accurate and timely data to support business decisions.
- Reviewing results for employee engagement surveys, providing data analysis and creating initiatives in line with business objectives against survey results.
- Managing employee absence and long-term sickness cases, including coordinating return-to-work plans, conducting absence reviews, and working closely with occupational health providers to ensure appropriate support and managing through capability processes where applicable.
- Reviewing and delivering the management development program, focused on enhancing leadership capabilities, providing training on people management, performance management, conflict resolution, and promoting best practices for employee engagement and development.
- Ensuring adherence to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) policies, promoting fair treatment, inclusivity, and equal opportunities across all aspects of people management and decision-making processes.
- Establishing and maintaining educational partnerships with schools, colleges, and universities to support talent pipelines, internships, apprenticeships, and other collaborative initiatives aimed at developing future talent and brand awareness.
- Participating in and supporting global working groups, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s diversity objectives and fostering collaboration to drive initiatives that promote an inclusive workplace culture.
- Managing and implementing apprenticeship and graduate programs
- Overseeing talent acquisition efforts in the absence of the Talent Advisor, ensuring seamless recruitment processes, candidate management, and maintaining strong relationships with hiring managers.
- Leading and contributing to ad-hoc HR projects, responding to business needs with flexibility, and ensuring timely delivery of initiatives related to People & Culture strategies.
- Enhancing employer brand visibility on LinkedIn, building connections and engaging with relevant networks, collaborating with marketing and recruitment teams to showcase the organisation’s culture, values, and career opportunities, and leveraging LinkedIn to attract top talent and strengthen the company’s online presence.
- Building professional networks and developing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, attending industry events, HR forums, and networking groups to stay current on best practices and trends, while fostering relationships that support personal and organisational growth.
What experience do I need:
- CIPD Level 5 combined with an understanding of the theory and implementation of People & Culture as an enabling business function that treats our employees as adults with a policy light approach
- Degree level or equivalent qualification
- Hands-on proven work experience in a senior generalist HR or HRBP role
- Strong stakeholder engagement
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical
- Able to make well-informed decisions in a fast pace environment
