Additionally, if a chemotherapy order is prepared but later changed or cancelled before treatment, our OIMS maintains a record of this order (called an ‘orphan’) so it can be reallocated to a new order. This process helps reduce waste and reports can also be generated on unused expired orphans for accurate wastage tracking.
The scheduler and resource management functionality is driven by protocols that ensure appointments are scheduled when and where they are required. This increases efficiencies for organisations and reduces unnecessary travel for patients. Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton has joined four other Mater hospitals in introducing Charm Evolution® to enhance chemotherapy treatment delivery, boosting the hospital’s capacity to provide safe and timely patient care. The move opens the door for administration and system support across the Mater network and boosts the ability to relocate patients to other Mater facilities during treatment.
