Our combined purpose

To help deliver better healthcare outcomes through world-class technology

From pathology, radiology and oncology to health informatics, practice management and patient safety, our solutions help create a healthier society.

Scotland National framework

Building the UK’s largest connected laboratory medicine network via NHS Scotland’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) framework. The network has the potential to link and streamline complex clinical processes to improve the patient experience for the population of Scotland.

Birmingham & Solihull multi-site solution

Magentus is reshaping connected pathology services for more than 2.5 million patients across the Birmingham and Solihull area each year, implementing and operating its innovative Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) across eight key sites. The unique Evolution vLab LIMS is transforming pathology services across all sites operated by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust and Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, providing a fully-managed, multi-site and multi-discipline LIMS supporting the activities of all pathology areas.

Expanding Mater hospital network

Magentus is helping Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton roll out a new healthcare approach that connects every aspect of a cancer patient’s care into one central system. The regional Queensland hospital has joined four of Mater’s South-East Queensland hospitals in introducing the market-leading CHARM® oncology information management solution to enhance chemotherapy treatment delivery, boosting the hospital’s capacity to provide safe and timely patient care. The move has created standardisation across all Mater facilities and opened the door for administration and system support across the Mater network.

Lancashire & South Cumbria united

Magentus is connecting all NHS pathology services in Lancashire & South Cumbria, replacing the four standalone LIMS systems that are currently used across eight hospital sites, cutting costs and providing a common platform that will link all laboratories together for the first time. It will support 800 employees and a growing regional population of approximately 1.7 million people. The new system is a key enabler in improving patient pathways across multiple health areas including cancer.

Leicester maternity platform

The University Hospital of Leicester NHS Trust, sought out for their specialisation in maternity care for high-risk women, has been using Euroking for over three decades. We continually work with their team to roll out system upgrades, enabling them to access up-to-date datasets, adopt improved paperless processes, and align with clinical updates and national reporting guidelines.

Accelerating introduction of AI in radiology

We have lent our expertise to enable the integration of AI into radiology at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust, who selected the prioritisation platform red dot®, owned by Behold.ai.

Through our AI Connect gateway, we have integrated Behold’s AI (artificial intelligence) algorithm into Dartford’s radiology workflow to support quicker image reporting. The algorithm, which connects with our RIS System, Cris, separates radiology studies into normal and abnormal categories in less than 30 seconds, based on more than 30,000 example images. It alerts radiographers to urgent findings at the point of acquisition and helps clinicians prioritise workloads and reduce reporting backlogs.

Integrating diagnostic services to broaden health picture

Collaborative diagnostics platforms help multidisciplinary teams connect, validate and provide inputs in a single diagnostics platform. Integrated diagnostics ensures patient decisions can be made with combined, validated and automated reports across radiology and pathology. By integrating data and systems across diagnostic services, we can reduce the time and expense spent on processes and provide clinicians with faster access to complete result sets, speeding up clinical decisions and the commencement of treatment.

Greater focus on the increased adoption of Healthcare IT solutions has provided opportunities to create optimised, integrated networks in pathology and radiology.

Harnessing the digital revolution to deliver better patient outcomes

Pathologists are perfectly positioned to lead a data-driven revolution that will bring health systems firmly into the 21st century, transforming patient outcomes globally via world-class interoperable diagnostics and data workflows. Using data-rich laboratory information management systems (LIMS), pathologists can reshape healthcare with patients firmly at the centre of models of care. Innovative diagnosticians are collaborating with clinicians beyond traditional organisational silos throughout labs, hospitals, and trusts to deliver a higher quality of care that is increasingly integrated and multidisciplinary.

The possibilities of better health data sharing are endless, as is the potential for a more sustainable, proactive healthcare system and better patient outcomes.

Improving data flow to embrace imaging opportunities

Digital images allow the reporting to be done from anywhere, with workflow distributed right across organisations and trusts. Going digital means resources can be more easily shared, providing a better patient experience. The more AI can help reduce the amount of reporting required by consultants, the more we can improve throughput and turnaround times.

The ever-increasing use of artificial intelligence within diagnostics has the potential to significantly reduce reporting times and workload through the provision of clinical decision support.
